Water’s Edge Inn sits among tropical gardens on the edge of Folly’s marsh, a short walk from Center Street and a few blocks from the Atlantic. Every stay includes a hot breakfast each morning and a two-hour happy hour each evening, so the only thing left to plan is the beach.

Paul Lauer moved to Folly Beach from Honolulu in 1997 and opened Water’s Edge Inn in 2007. He still lives on-site, and you will usually find him at happy hour trading island recommendations with guests.

Why stay in yet another cookie-cutter hotel when the Water’s Edge Inn is available? It’s a charming little venue hidden away amongst the flora and fauna of Folly. We fell in love with it.
What a lovely bed and breakfast inn! The room was immaculate with a stunning marsh view. The staff was incredible. We will definitely be repeat customers.
The ladies who were at the front during happy hour and breakfast were so friendly and made sure we had everything we needed. The rooms are very cozy with fireplaces and everything you need to enjoy your stay.
